You know how pumps say must be submerged in at least 1 1 4" of water... Which pump can suck up water from the lowest level? Like half an inch? can any of them do that?

I have an air pump for my 25 gallon fish tank but it's super noisy even though the box says silent. please i really need help finding one because my parents say they can hear it when they sleep. please, i need a really silent one so it's quiet enough for people to sleep.
Do Whisper aquarium pump filters fit Top Fin pumps?
since Top Fin is an exclusive PetSmart brand i'm looking for an alternative and hopefully cheaper brand of filter. the filters i use are Top Fin large 20 60 gallon. i checked out the Whisper large filters at Walmart and they appear to be the same size as the Top Fins.

Help with floating aquarium pump/filter?
I just bought an aquarium pump and filter kit for my tank, it's a clear plastic cube type thing you put filter carbon and filter floss in. The problem I'm having though is that the whole box keeps floating to the surface of the water and I'm not sure what the problem is...I tried taking almost half of the filter floss out but that seems to have minimal effect. Please help

I have a 1.5 gallon aquarium kit and the pump broke. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement pump small enough for such an aquarium? I've searched everywhere and the 5 gallon size is too powerful.
How do you prime a non-self priming aquarium pump?
If you have a pump that can be used internally or externally, how do you prime it if it's non self priming and you are using it externally? All the diagram show is that the pump is outside the tank and lower than the water line, but how do you get the water to the pump to begin with?

I have a Top Fin 10 aquarium pump. I did a 25 % water change and replaced the filter and rinsed the pump parts. Now it's not working. It'll come on, and it spins, but it makes a terrible racket and it's not sucking water in to circulate it. Does anyone have ANY idea what's wrong with it??Thanks for the info. Alec.
